How to Make Burn The Fat Affiliate Sales on AUTO-PILOT Using Email Autoresponders:
John’s Time-Proven Formula and Strategy

If you have an email newsletter list, then using an autoresponder series is the most powerful way you can start bringing in a passive stream of auto-pilot income with very little time invested (do the work once, and get paid forever). Right now as you're reading this, affiliates are making money with this strategy, on a daily basis, even while they sleep.

If you don't have an email list or an autoresponder series, you're going to want one by the time you finish reading this, when you realize how much money other affiliates are making, that you might be leaving on the table.

Everyone knows that email marketing is one of the most effective affiliate strategies. The saying goes, "the money is in the list" (and in the relationship you build with your list).

Instead of thinking of e-mail marketing as one strategy, you should think of it as two separate strategies:

Broadcast e-mail (aka "solo email"): a one-time email sent out to your entire list, at a specific time, and then never again. This is a great strategy for getting a one-time spike in sales.

Autoresponder e-mail: (aka "follow up email") emails that are sent out automatically with software (such as www.aweber.com. You write a series of emails in advance, upload them into your autoresponder, tell the software when you want the emails to go out ( 3 days after signup, 7 days after signup, etc.) and every new subscriber will receive your automatic emails in order, on the schedule you choose. This is a great way to keep the sales coming in over the long-term, automatically.

Although most autoresponders are set up as a 5 or 7 part email "series of lessons" or a "mini-course", it doesn't have to end there. You can install as many follow up messages as you want. In fact, you could literally have emails going out automatically for years! Once an autoresponder is setup, it can keep a steady flow of sales coming in as long as you add new subscribers to your list. With each new subscriber sign up, they get the follow up messages, one at a time, helping lead them from cold prospect to hot customer.

This is where the real POWER of email follow up comes into perspective. It's an axiom in sales and marketing that "cold" prospects are tough to sell and usually don't buy on the first visit. Think about the fact that a good conversion rate is a mere one or two percent. That means 98 or 99 out of 100 don't buy.... at first. But many of those 99 WOULD buy, if you followed up with them and didn't give up after that first contact.

A new subscriber may not be familiar with the Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle program yet and they might not know the author from Adam, even though he is one of the most highly accomplished and credentialed online (champion bodybuilder and featured in Oprah, Men's Fitness, Muscle and Fitness, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and too many other media outlets to list)...

It may take several exposures to the author's information before the prospect builds up enough trust and actually decides to purchase. For those prospects who are not first-visit buyers, the autoresponder is like a funnel that gradually warms them up, increases comfort and familiarity with the brand and the author and gives value first. This increases the chance of the prospect buying on one of the follow up communications.

Most affiliates never do ANY follow up, so just think of the competitive advantage you'll have when you've got your own autoresponder series set up. The best part is, you do the work once and then the autoresponders keeping working for you around the clock, whether you are in the office, at home, lounging on the beach or even sleeping.

No doubt, you've heard all the cliche's about "autopilot marketing" and "making money while you sleep" blah blah blah, and you probably shrugged it all off (usually, rightfully so). But here with autoresponders, this is a true case where you really CAN earn money on autopilot!

How We Increase Sales With The Burn The Fat Autoresponder Series

Every once in awhile, we send out a newsletter (broadcast) and sales spike dramatically higher than usual - making for one big pay-day.

But why settle for just one payday? We take these winning newsletter broadcasts and insert them into our autoresponder series so all the FUTURE subscribers will also get to see that sales-producing message. If necessary, we slightly rewrite the newsletter to make it "evergreen" so that it never goes out of date. A year from now, two years from now, etc, all the new subscribers keep getting that high converting sales message and we reap the benefit over and over again.

The important part here is that we ONLY put the top-selling newsletters into our autoresponders, because THEY ARE ALREADY PROVEN TOP SELLERS. Guess what? You can do the same thing now.

You can copy (literally "steal" - with our blessing), our best selling newsletter broadcasts and put them in YOUR autoresponder series too. Not only are these emails tested to our house list, They are tested on affiliate's lists as well. I know, because I was the first "test pilot" and it increased my sales of Burn the Fat ebooks by 400%

How John Quadrupled His Affiliate Sales Using a Simple 7-Part Autoresponder

Not long ago, I was facing a challenge with my own burn the fat affiliate promotions. You see, I had this one article (actually one of Tom's reprintable articles) that I had published on my site. This article was getting a lot of traffic - hundreds of unique visitors every single day.

The problem was, I had high traffic but low conversions, even though the traffic was well-qualified and a perfect match for Tom's fat loss program. I tried over and over again to tweak the article formatting, the banner ad images, and the call-to-action. I spent months working on THE ARTICLE AND THE WEBPAGE, testing it, tweaking it, retesting it, but I still wasn't making very many sales. In the end, I was converting about 1 sale out of every 300 people who read this article and then clicked through to the sales letter. That's not a good conversion rate.

Once I started hitting between 500-700 unique visitors each day, I knew it was time to do something radical or all that traffic would be wasted, so instead of continuing to fumble with the web page and the article, I decided to do some FOLLOW UP E-MAMIL MARKETING, knowing full well that most people don't buy on the first contact, but they might buy on the 2nd or 3rd or 4th.

I spent a half hour setting up a 7-part autoresponder series. I put a newsletter opt-in form about half-way down the article page offering a "fat loss mini-course" for those who wanted more information. I figured that if they were scrolling down to read a fat loss article, they might be interested in a fat loss email mini-course.

I immediately started to get subscribers, on the order of about 10-15 per day, and after only one week - I made my first sale from that autoresponder. As the list has continued to grow over the weeks and months, the sales have become even more regular. I'm making a sales almost every day from that ONE autoresponder and ONE webpage / article I set up long ago, and it's not showing any signs of slowing down. (just imagine if I replicated this strategy on all my high traffic pages!)

The wake-up call for how powerful these autoresponders can be was when I took a look at my Clickbank analytics. As of this morning, I'm now converting 1 out of every 66 click-thru's into a sale. That's more than 4 times as many sales as I was making before - and all because I spent a half hour creating an autoresponder.

How to Create an Autoresponder Series to Sell BFFM on Auto-Pilot

1) Login to your Aweber account.
2) Select the list you'd like to create an autoresponder for.
3) Hover over the messages tab in the header, and select "Follow-Up."
4) Click "Add a New Follow-Up Email."
5) Insert a Subject line.
6) Insert an email into the message body in both the HTML and plain-text boxes.
7) Decide when to send the follow-up email.
8) Click save.
9) Repeat the above steps until you have all messages in the autoresponder sequence.

What Kind of Content to Use in an Autoresponder

One of the most important considerations for autoresponder emails is that the content will stay relevant for your subscribers in the months and years ahead. Our affiliate area is LOADED with copy and paste-ready emails you can use. All of our content has already been tested and proven for making sales and almost all our content is evergreen, for use in autoresponders as well as in broadcasts.

Burn The Fat Affiliate Solo Emails - These can be copied and pasted into your autoresponder series. Keep in mind that this type of email is considered a hard sales pitch, and you don't want to send something like this too often. To build a relationship and minimize unsubscribes, it's better to give, give, give, sell, than to just sell, sell, sell, sell. With that said, we DO recommend you insert at least one direct-selling solo email into your autoresponder series. If you have a very long autoresponder series (10 or more messages, then 2 solo emails makes sense).

Burn The Fat Article Emails - Our articles can be copied and pasted into an email autoresponder to provide good content for your newsletter readers while also including hoplinks to our sales page. Articles are a great alternative for those affiliates who don't want to pitch/sell their subscribers as often, but want to provide valuable information. Each article has a "soft sell" at the end, so even though they are articles, not direct pitches, they can produce commissions. You can also publish a BurnTheFat article on your website and direct traffic to that webpage from a very short autoresponder email.

Burn The Fat Q+A Emails - Our Q+A Columns are especially popular among email marketers and can be copied and pasted directly into an autoresponder series.

Landing Page Solo Emails - Another great strategy is to write a very short email, trying to get a click-through to an article landing page. There are two ways to do this. One is to link to a unique article at a landing page on your website. That article gives value and then promotes a click to BurnTheFat.com at the end. The other way is to send traffic directly to one of the article landing pages on our site. We have many article landing pages on the BurnTheFat.com website with pre-written affiliate emails that can be copied and pasted into your autoresponder series, too. Linking to article landing pages on BurnTheFat.com has become one of our best affiliate strategies, and the autoresponder series below is based on this method.

Review Page Solo Emails - Writing a short email that directs traffic to a review of Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle is another great way to use your autoresponder series. In fact, an autoresponder series is probably not complete without one.

Remember to make sure any message you put in your autoresponder is not dated or based on current events. It must be evergreen if you want it to keep working for you for years to come. Always give your messages a quick proof read to make sure that when they are read in the future, they will still appear relevant.

Below, you will find a sample autoresponder series for promoting the Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle program. You can literally "steal" it - just copy and paste it. Or you can use this for generating ideas, and you can create your own customized autoresponder series. This is the exact autoresponder series I used to quadruple my sales of Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle. That being said, burnthefat.com makes no promises or assurances about your earnings, commissions, conversions or income potential.

One final note. While we have many affiliates who fill their autoresponders with nothing but Burn the Fat promotions, you can also insert content of your own into the follow up marketing messages. If your visitors were looking very specifically for fat loss information or information about the Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle program specifically, then using only our pre written content and only linking to the burn the fat web pages will work very well as long as you mix up the direct selling messages with the informational messages (which only soft sell).

However, if someone is subscribing because they want information from YOU personally or they are subscribing for additional types of fitness information, then you can mix up your autoresponder messages to provide the kind of information your readers are looking for. If all they get is a barrage of emails trying to hard sell them a program they're not even familiar with, nor interested in, then don't expect subscribers to read the rest of your emails or even stay subscribed to your newsletter. Always keep your subscribers needs in mind, provide value and don't send anything you wouldn't want to receive yourself.

Feel free to copy and paste, edit, modify, or adapt these autoresponder messages at your discretion.

Note: Each one of these emails requires a small touch of personalization - things like inserting your signature, inserting your website address, and updating the clickbank hoplinks with your clickbank ID (same as your username). Be sure to check over each email prior to sending it out, and always send yourself a test message to make sure everything is working properly.

Tip: It's best to space out your sales pitch emails between several content-based emails (such as article or Q+A emails). Do more soft-selling than hard selling with an autoresponder series, and remember that it usually takes time for a prospective customer to decide to purchase. This is why I've created a 7-part autoresponder series that almost exclusively delivers valuable content that pre-sells the Burn The Fat program. The effectiveness of our article landing pages really shines with this marketing format.

1) Welcome Email - this email should be sent out the moment a new subscriber signs up to welcome them to your newsletter. Here's a sample welcome email:

Note: It's a really good idea to offer every new subscriber a free gift to say thanks for signing up. Feel free to use one of our rebrandable PDF's if you don't have some content of your own to offer.


2) Article Email (sent 2-3 days after first welcome email) - this is the second email that a new subscriber will be receiving from you. Since this is likely the first time they'll be receiving an exclusive content email from you, you want to make it a good one to really impress them. A key point here is to provide value to your new subscriber, and the best way to do that is to send them to one of our article landing pages. However, you can use one of your own articles that your subscribers may be interested in, or one of The Burn The Fat articles by Tom Venuto. In this email, we're using one of our most successful landing page articles in the history of burnthefat.com.
